Restore Function Help..

I got a call to my FILs computer. I donot know what they did. I cannot get the restore to go past today. That is, it looks like it was a new boot up but all their pics, music etc are still ok. It looks like it is starting up like it did when it was new. Any suggestions/ help. I am stummped.

I had the same problem on my daughter's laptop. I ended up saving some of the data on a flash memory stick then doing a complete reload. The restore date options did not go back very far at all.<br /><br />I'll be interested in hearing some of the responses to your problem.

I am as stumped as I have ever been. I have no idea on this. My MIL called the other day and said it was acting funny, I explained how to run restore, and now, well, "they ain't no tellin'", what they have done. I cannot fix it now other than to go to the beginning and reload everything, unless someone has a better idea. Like I don't have enough going on right now.

What was happening that it needed to be restored in the first place?
