restore shine on force motor

any advice on restoring shine on a 1996 120 hp force lower unit has lot of oxidation and water spots don't want to use items that might ruin the rest of the paint,I would take any advice.

I'd start with CLR or some other acidic cleaner to get any carbonate deposits and rust stains off the lower unit.<br /><br />Rinse that all off thoroughly, then go to work with automotive rubbing compound. That will remove the oxidation and any remaining deposits.<br /><br />Finish up with good quality car wax. <br /><br />Repeat as needed.
