I'm not sure, but it appears that time will erase that memory where you said to yourself, I'm never going to restore another boat again, as long as I live..!
Having said that, here is my new project. A 1970 Searay SRV 240. I brought it home a few days ago and have just started tinkering with it. I went to look at it after finding an ad where the guy who owned it pretty much wanted it out of his yard. The trailer it was on was so rusted out, he broke it pretty much in half trying to move it a few feet. I spent a day getting it off the old trailer and onto this one and towed it 4 hours back to my place. After a good cleaning and unloading a truck load of trash out of it, I was surprised to find the fiberglass decks in side were ROCK solid. I fogged the engine and let it sit for a few days, praying it wasn't froze up. I went out yesterday, pulled the plugs and was able to turn it over by hand. I dropped some new plugs in it and it fired right up...! I've stripped all of the deck hardware and threw a fresh coat of bottom paint on it so I would feel like I've accomplished at least some progress...lol. I'll be painting the hull with Interlux Perfection Rochelle Red and the topsides with Mediterranean white. I live in Maine, so I'll have the next 11 months of winter to work on it...lol. I'll post update pics as the work progresses..
