restoring floor boards on catalina 34

my floor boards are starting to peel and rot to my surprise the floor was made of laminate flooring i was wondering if i put a oak floor if it would hold up. i would stain and varnish it and to my surprise it is very affordable i want to know if anyone thinks this would work

It depends on where the wood will be installed. If exposed to weather it may want to cup and warp. If installed in a cabin or salon you will be fine.

Use white oak if possible, as it is much more resistant to rot than red oak. Look for quarter-sawn stock (as opposed to flat-sawn) for greater resistance to cupping. Good luck.<br /><br />John
