Can one use a utility like Ghost to make a backup of their hard drive at any given point and use it to restore their computer to that configuration in the manner of a factory restore disk (reformat and restore)?

Re: Restoring hard drive

Myself use ghost, I create an image (C:) on disk.
If my computer crashes, will format hard drive and then insert my ghost back-up disks. This will bring it back to its original state that was backed up. Have even restored my back-up to a different hard drive. Works for me! ;)

The best way with norton ghost is to partition your hard drive into two parts..Drive C volume1 and drive C volume2...or just split it and call 2 drive D.Anyway you can create a ghost image at anytime on that second partition.
When that is done you can update the ghost image as often as you like.
If the computer totally crashes and you can't get into windows just boot with a floppy then type in D:gho....it will run setup and restore from your ghost image.
