Has anyone ever ever replaced a rotted transom in an aluminum hull boat? Any tips on what to do, watch out for, and what tools I will need would be very helpful!

Howdy.

Plenty of transoms have been replaced in tin boats by forum members. I guess the first question is what do you have? It's hard to tell in you avatar. Some brands have a few tricks and others are a snap.

That is another problem I have, I know that the boat is a Cherokee Runabout, but I am not sure of the year. I was told that it is a 1961 from the previous owner, although I do see many similar boats on the web,I haven't been able to find any pictures or info on the boat. And the forum will not let me add photos for whatever reason.
