With the many references to checking for restricted fuel flow when poor WOT performance is encountered, I am curious.
Won't a restricted fuel flow coupled with a wide open throttle result in a lean condition which would result in an engine seizure? At the very least it seems like it would cause detonation which would be just as bad.

Charles

You are correct!

In my opinion, poor fuel flow is probably the leading cause of outboard powerhead failures...

Poor flow/lack of fuel + WOT = detonation = scored cylinder walls = holes in pistons, ect.
