Re: Resurrecting the Demon
start reading on the forums bud.
you got some studying to do, and this is boat university.
there are 3 basic types of resin used in boat building
1.polyester resin. either waxed or un waxed
2.vynal ester resin. or VE reisn for short.
3 epoxy resin
poly is the lowest grade of resin between the three but far stronger than you will ever need in a boat, your boat is made from poly. it is the industry standard for boat building, and everything from fiberglassing car speakers to countertops and showerstalls
"good ol bondo" resin is poly resin but it is waxed.
2 VE resin is stronger than poly and newer boat hulls are made from it
3 epoxy....known as "the glue" very good resin, but will be waay over kill for what you need 2x as expencive as standard poly
the standard used here at i boats for material with poly is chopped strand matt or csm.
the standard cloth used is a 1708 bi ax it has both chopped strand matt and a woven cloth mixed in one material. it is very strong
hope that helps
cheers
