Reuse Wire Pulled From Conduit?

I'm going to be moving my pool timer and an outdoor outlet about 20 feet. The wire to the new location will be in PVC conduit. I have a bunch of wire pulled from and abandoned ridged metal conduit run. Any issues with reusing this wire in my new project?

I'm sure the Code would frown on this. But, the wire looks to be in great shape and I can easily scrutinize the insulation for any breaks/nicks/etc.. What do you guys think?

IMHO, if the wire is the right gauge, is copper and has good insulation, why not?

Look it over good. If it's as good as you say, then go ahead and use it. We can get all technical here and suggest using a megger...but you're probably ok.

I agree. As long as the insulation is in good condition, and the wire is the correct guage you shold be fine.

I see no issue. And more then likely the old wire will probably be longer then what you need, you will probably have to cut some off anyways exposing new or unused fresh copper wire. :thumb:

I have reused wire pulled from conduit. If the insulation is fine what problems could there be?

I would actually say no and save this wire for non-conduit use. I hate pulling wire and would use new wire in conduit to prevent any future surprises or rework.

I have done it many times over the years with no ill effects at all, as long as the insulation is ok, there won't be any problems. My next door neighbor is a electrician and he does side jobs and keeps all of the pulled wire so he can do it less expensive for those families that need work and can't afford new wire.
