no one in this city I live in has the right size freeze plug for my boat. I took the old one and tapped in in and it is tight. I kinda want to get it put back together tonight. Does anyone know if they can be reused?

I thought reusing a freeze plug was like reusing a prophylactic, it CAN be done, who wants too!

Re: Reusing a freeze plug

Who ever started calling them freeze plugs did a great disservice to the automotive community. They are actually core plugs that give access to the interior of the block to help in sand removal after the block is cast.

I used to install mine with that nasty old timey Indian Head gasket sealer.
