Rev limiter

Please help settle an argument.<br />What year did they start putting a rev limiter or governor's on marine engines?<br />And is there a rev limiter on fuel injection engines?

Only the Injected motors Have Them.......<br /><br />Carbed motors are Limited by Load, Cam, Or Valve Float............

Some i/o ignitions won't let you rev too high.Outboards have been trying to control this since the 50's.<br />DHP

mercruiser thunderbolt V has rev limiter,been around since approx 1995 96.
