Theres a pond that I sometimes fish in, never have good luck and people are usually *****'s.

So last year im in my first boat fishing, standing on the middle bench. 12' aluminum with a 7.5hp Chrysler on it. Having a decent time and some guy comes by within 10 feet of me plowing just below plane. You know, that sweet spot that makes the biggest wake, hes in a 16' aluminum.

Needless to say, i took in about 15 gallons of water. I yelled an he flicks me off.

Well I decide to go out there again today and I see the same guy, i go by slowly just to be 100% sure. And its defiantly him. I come back around in that same sweet spot that gives you the biggest wake, come by within 10 feet just as he did. Only this year im in my 16' fiberglass glastron with a 85hp.

Maybe he'll think next time.

Yeah, that was very cool of you... Maybe you could have thrown a bigger wake and swamped his boat, sinking it and putting him in the water too...

You're the #$*& now.

Don't play your revenge games on the water near me.

Sure, he was a jerk at first, but it DEFINITELY doesn't make it right or safe for you to do the same exact thing.

Aside from possibly injuring him or causing property damage, what if he had a gun and really wanted to surprise you with how big of an idiot he REALLY was? How cool would you have been then?

Be safe out there, please.

I'm guessing the "lesson" was probably lost on him, as he probably didn't remember you..... but he probably will now.

The guy was wrong to do what he did. You were just as wrong to do what you did. Revenge for stuff like some water in your boat isn't worth it. Just yell and the guy and bail the water out, then get back to your fishing.

We've all had stupid people do stupid things and have often been inconvenienced by it. Revenge accomplishes nothing but to escalate the incident. It can even lead to violent disputes and sometimes tragedy.

most people do not realize they are doing the wrong thing by slowing down and coming off plane instead of coming to a no wake speed well before you pass a small boat, or just keeping at speed if you are too close. should have educated him instead of yelling. yeah its a dumb thing he did but he was probably thikning to he was doing you a favor without realizing it.

Re: Revenge, a dish best served cold.

Passing within 10' of a guy fishing isn't really much of a favor, even if you cut the guy slack about basic boat operation and wake size.

Anyone who had any respect for others would have stopped and at least apologized, not to mention covered the replacement of anything damaged by his moronic move. Ignorance forgiven only encourages future ignorant acts. It's rewarding dysfunctional behavior, making yourself the 'enabler' in the psychological model.

I'm all for an eye for an eye in this situation. It is even punishment for a deed done without remorse. Now if someone swamped someone else after they apologized and offered to repay damages (if any), then you have an actual revenge situation.

Wow, seems we have some criminals posting on this board.

Swamping the guy and pulling someone's plugs are cowardly, illegal acts. Maybe if people acted like grown men and women, and actually confronted the offending person and spoke with them, we wouldn't feel the need to take justice into our own hands.

So my question to summitlt is: Do you feel better now? Really?
I think if you answer "yes", then you are the one with the problem. I've played the revenge game, and I've felt stupid afterwards....can't be proud to 'become an idiot like them'. Above posts are right, do like the idiot does, and now YOU are the idiot.

Count me in too. The only issue I see is maybe he doesn't remember you. It would be good to swing by afterward and ask how it feels to be on the recieving end.

Re: Revenge, a dish best served cold.

i never thought i'd see someone posting sabotage, and thinking it's a good idea. not on this site.

the guy who swamped you is an ignorant jagoff...period. you're hacked off. i get it.

swamping him doesn't make you better. neither does keying his car, whizzing in his cooler, or pounding the living dogs&^t out of him.

flipping you the bird just shows you his i.q. (apparently, one)

18ftcheetah. are you kidding? sho when this guy backs his boat into the water, and his wife and kids are on it scared sh&%less by the water coming in, you're vindicated?

2 wrongs don't make a right, although, 3 lefts make a right :D

we were getting too serious
