Reverse Flow Cooling Merc 165

I have a 1971 Mercruiser 165. I have viewed a couple of threads about reverse flow cooling as an update from Mercruiser...anyone have any info on this or the service bulletin? I have downloaded the manual for the engine outdrive(thank you very much) and see no mention of this.

Also what is the proper name for my outdrive? ie. "1a" or "type 1" or just "165" ?

i just call mine a 1 drive....
