I have a 7.5 HP Merc and in checking it over I found that someone had ground off the hooks on the original reverse lock lever. I now have a replacement unit to install. Is there any trick to installing this? It seems pretty straight forward but I noticed a hole in the lever that appears to hold a roll pin. I did not see this in the unit that is on my motor now. Does anyone have any experience in replacing one of these? Any help would be appreciated.
