reverse will not engage

i have tried adjusted the shift cable but it does not seem to help reverse will not engage forward is good all day any advice as to why reverse will not engine all help is greatly appreciated

the cable gives you a bit of adjustment, if you can't get it with that you will have to adjust the shift rod itself.

If the cable on this is old,8-10 years, you may want to get a new one, they do stretch over time.

Just be sure to write down how many turns in what direction you went so you can put it back if you have to.
