i reversed the battery wires on my 1988 28 spl, and briefly tried to start it maybe two or three clicks....the question is, can this cause any damage, because now it wont start, and its acting like its not getting spark....it ran great a few days ago, where should i start/?/

1st off eeeewwww.....
not familiar with that particular motor... does it have any fuses? are they any fuses in the ignition switch line that could have popped.
next.... is power getting to the switchbox/brain.... are you getting spark... suggest pulling a plug... and grounding plug to case check spark, this won't tell you if you have enough but will tell you that you do or do not have spark.
is the electric starter working?
thinking you may have toasted off your switchbox... not sure though... so let us know if you have spark... if starter is working... and my personal prefferance for marking wires and batteries is to mark the batteries positive post and that whole corner with a shot of red paint.... no paint for the neg..... same for the wires if they arn't already red and black.... I know lil late.... and really odd.. but i find in the dark...in bad situation it is really nice to be able to see them clearly and not make a mistake.
Hopefully someone with more exp will answer your question and fill in the areas that i missed as i am sure i did.

You may have blown your power pack and for sure the charging system rectifier.

well, good news...after cleaning and swapping plugs, trying two seperate batteries hooking up a charger...and a short panic, right after making this post i decided to take a second look and realized i forgot to hook up the fuel line....and im not gonna lie its probably not the fist time....however i am going to find some red paint for the cables as a precaution and as always thanks for the suggestions
