1) Current SS prop is allowing Engine to Redline.
2) Michigan Wheel, Apollo XHS, Stainless Steel.
3) 14 3/8 diameter, 18p
4) 4800, Speed Unsure of as I have never GPS'ed it.e load (very helpful)
5) Mercruiser, 350 Magnum 5.7L Alpha One, 1995, and 250 HP
6) Baja Islander, 1996, 19' 2800 lbs

I have a Michigan Wheel, Apollo XHS 18p 4 blade SS that has great hole shot, but is letting me get to 4800 RPM which is too high. I have a 19ft Baja Islander Bowrider with a 5.7L Mercruiser Alpha 1.

I have the opportunity to buy a damaged Revolution 4 SS 19p prop part#48-857026A for $300. One of the blades is bent, and another has a chip out of the leading edge.

Question #1 is, is this too much? How much would it cost to have it repaired and should I pass on this prop?

Question #2 is, am I looking at the correct step up in pitch/prop from my current 18p prop?

Thanks!

Answers:

#1 Yes, way too much. Pass. You can buy a new one for less than the total price that you would pay.

#2 I would expect that you will be at about 4600 RPM with the Rev 4 19P and maybe 4200 RPM with the Rev 4 21P. Take your pick.

Re: Revolution 4 Question for Baja 19' Islander

My info checked over several listings is the rpm is 4800.
As far as a prop change we need the info asked for in "read third first" at the top of the prop forum
to make an informed decision.

Aside from the revolution what is your goal. 4800 is not to high but it is your engine what would be your target RPM....There are a few props that are far less than a merc and provide performance above that par. A 4 blade 19p Solas HR titan should put you right at 4600 or a 20p 4 blade stilletto in a baypro 11 at 43-4200.
