:eek:need advice badly reward to give my boat a vikeing funeral lol lol, anyway here is my story I bought thisw classic 1982 baja with a 1982 140 johnson.. Boat sat for a long time after alot of research and advice from this forum (great information) had it running pretty good but lost or maybe checked it incorrectly in the begining and discovered 2 cyl had very low compression numbers.. everything else is good tnt worked perfect from the single controll lever with the button on the stick.. all lights even the gas guage worked!!!.. I had a 115 evinrude that I got in a trade a while back so checked compression 115-120 in all cyl., put on boat fired her up run`s great.. here is my problem the trim would not work this engine is a three wire one black ground one blue up and one green down.. I disconnected the wires and hooked it up direct to 12 volt`s it would go up and down but smoked and banged like crazy i believed the motor was on the way out (yes I had the bk wire to a ground on battery and was switching the green and blue to go up and down.. So I decide to switch out the entire transom mount from the 140 that I know works complete with tnt never disturbing any lines I put it on the 115 and wired it in as it was before but does not work it did work when I removed it from the 140 this morning and was original to the harness on boat.. I checked and rechecked my connections you can hear ther motor running but no movement up or down??? I am ready to bring it down to the dock and give it the old vikeing funeral?? I can raise the motor by hand but boy I am retired and too old for that lol lol any help advice greatly appreciated sorry for the long one but tried to explain everything thanks bill:confused:

:D:D Well I will chalk this up to inexpierence (aka as stupidty on my part) I figured out why my trim is not moveing.. I had to release it maually when takeing it apart and never retightened the release!!! I went over everything else twice ,three times never checked that release it was low on fluid so never showed>> filled her up with some new fluid and works better than ever.. boy I feel stupid!! but feel good I fixed getting ready to take her out.. hey if you cant laugh at yourself who can you!!!lol lol I know alt of guys read it and were stumped figureing I checked the obvious ,, I am too old to lift that motor it is heavyLOLlol have a good one Bill
