Currently the boat has 2 batteries, and is about 17' long.
One battery is under the steering column that starts the boat
One battery is under the trolling motor up front. Motorguide Four 743 43lb thrust is the model
They're both deep cycle Group 27 Energizer MAXX batteries.
Looking to move both batteries to the rear where my fuel tank is. Hoping to separate them with Pressure treated plywood or Marine grade plywood.
What gauge wire should I be using for both of these scenarios? I was thinking of connecting the batteries in parallel, and running some gauge 4 wire from the outboard to the motor (2-3ft) and then running some 4 Gauge Wire to under the steering column to connect the trolling motor and all the dash wires? Dash wires would be cleaned up with a distribution block I'm thinking.
Haven't wired anything up besides my car stereo so I'm looking for some advice. It currently has what looks to be house wiring throughout. Got me through one season, not looking to take chances this year.
