I am going with waterproof push button start, choke and kill, and it works great and simply. But I have extra wires: black (no stripe) is this just ground? Grey, I have no idea, and one thats a creamy tan color, also no idea. Does one of these recharge my battery, or is one a overheat light wire, or neutral safety?

Black = Grd.
Grey = Tach sensor lead.
Tan = Overheat sensor lead to Warning Horn.

You're making a mistake by not wiring that engine properly.

I appreciate the imput. What would be dangerous about the push start configuration? I have the proper gauge wire, fused, water proof switches, etc. My initial reason for this, is the control box has a hole in the top, and it takes on water, shorting everything out. It works great for the control cables, just not the wires. You don't think Id be O.K.like this?
