I'm hooking up my first "real" antenna and dont know what cable to use. My other antennas have had a molded in cable, so I never researched or paid attention to the difference in cable. The main radio, an old Ray Jefferson VHF, will be hooked up to the new antenna, a Morad stainless whip. The backup is an older uniden, hooked up to the jippo 8' shakespere fiberglass whip. I want the best cable I can use for the Morad antenna. Any input would be great.

[colour=blue]RG58 is basic minimum and will do the job on a trailable boat. If you want better, use RG8X, especially for longer lengths.
