Would Rhino coating stick to the inside of an aluminun boat with the factory "speckel?" paint? Would it be flexible enough? The flloors are bare alum. now, and the walls have the finish on. I just wanna cover the sharp sufaces, so the kids won't hurt they're feet, I don't want to sacrifice boyencee. carpet would be a pain. Its just a plain old fishing boat with benches. But, shes got a forty and controls, so it'll be our ski boat too:)

Re: Rhino Coating?

I have an aluminum jon boat and aluminum canoe and I've thought about that Rhino-Lining stuff, but have concluded it's not such a great idea because if you ever have a leak, leaking rivet, any hull repairs, then that Rhino-Lining would really present a problem to remove to get to the aluminum. There was a guy on here a couple of weeks ago with a pontoon boat with that Rhino-stuff on the aluminum pontoons and now he has a leak and can't get to the aluminum for repairs. Think about it. Good Luck!

Re: Rhino Coating?

I just believe that you could be "sealing in" any future problems with the hull. I've heard of pick-up trucks beds rusting under the Rhino lining and then it's very difficult to remove and repair. Some of the aluminum jon boat manufacturers like Sea Ark use that Rhino stuff in the upper decking, gunwales, etc. and it's a great non-slip surface, but maybe not for the hull itself. Just my thoughts on this. Good Luck!
