Was thinking about Rhino-Lining the rear of my Checkmate. The part under the sun lounge and rear seats where the battery, bilge, gas tank, etc. is. Thoughts???

I have Line-X in the back of my PU truck and I love it. Sounds like a good idea Waterproof, deadens sound. Would it adhear to the wood ok ? IDK would it prevent the wood from breathing, If water got underneath would it rot ? Hmmmmmmmm

Re: Rhino-Lining...

Rhino-lining has never been much of a popular idea here on iboats. However, I live in WA State and I see it all the time up here. I have talked to lots of people who love it in there boat. It is something i have considered for my boat as well.

I do not know how well it ahears to wood, someone else would have to chime in on that.

There are also other products that are much more popular in the marine world. Check out Durabak. Lots of people here on iboats have used it and seem to love it.

Hope the is helpful...

The stuff will stick to anything(Like sh*t to a shingle) it just has to sanded with a very course grain such as 40g, I use to use a very course wire wheel on a angle grinder.
DO NOT WASH WITH ANYTHING AFTER IT IS SANDED AS IT WILL CLOSE IN THE TOOTH( SANDING SCRATCHES):D:D

Re: Rhino-Lining...

I work in the transit train industry, we have platform elevators in isolated areas, the subfloor floors of these elevator cabs are PT plywood, we were having a major problem with the floors rotting out. We remove/replace the wood subfloors and Rhino coated them, up the walls as well. We have not had a bit of problem with them since.

Q: Now for those who might ask what would rot out PT floors ?

A: The cleaning products required to remove all of the human waste products folks decided to leave in the elevators. At work we refer to them as portable toilets. It?s probably 3-4 times in a seven day week, if not sometimes daily.

Life is grand?

PS> I have friends who use the stuff in thier horse trailers, for the same reason........ Horse Sh*t
