I thought I posted this before, hmmm... oh well.
What I would like to know is the difference between a RIB and a SIB. It seems to me they're the same...

BTW
Merry Christmas to all

Re: RIB or SIB

I wonder if that is the reason that "SIB" is not a term used by the inflatable boat industry?

Yeah, SIB is not a term I had heard except for on iboats. RIB's have a fiberglass or aluminum hull just like a regular boat with an inflatable pontoon all around. "SIB"s have a PVC or cloth hull that can be inflated to give it a V shape. SIB's are no where near as efficient a hull design as a RIB, but sometimes you don't want a rigid hull. SIB's have their place.

Re: RIB or SIB

I believe he is asking about a semi rigid like the zodiac zoom 310sr. the best bet is to go to a shop and actually put your hands on both type you will quickly see the difference.

the semi rigid is just thinner lighter material and usually has a folding transom. for some people this is fine I prefer a true rib myself.
