Just got my new 24' Sylvan home last Friday. Saturday was calling for all day rain so I installed the mooring cover and raised both bimini tops. When I uncovered it this morning the carpet was soaked. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

Re: ring Cover

I would say you need to treat the cover. Most use the 303 fabric guard. Its can also depend if you have the fence spacers, if its not sitting level water will run up under the fence and spread out through the carpet. Dropping the tongue all the way down helps to.

Is this brand new? The canvas should be good if new. As MH said allow the boat to drain fore or aft.

Re: ring Cover

This mooring cover is set up with some type of support to allow the water to run off the cover?

If so, I suppose if there were a LOT of rain like we see down here on occasion, you might get enough hitting the uncovered front deck and/or 1-2" edge around the outside of the boat where that might soak the covered area?

Re: ring Cover

It is bran new and we did get an all day rain. I checked and pretty much have the boat level. I will lower the bow so the water will be able to drain. Thanks

Re: ring Cover

It will get wet but it wont hurt any thing. Open any storage areas so it will dry and it will be fine.
