riser-120 horse mercruiser

I unbolted the riser from the engine but it will not come apart. I have hit it with a hammer as hard as I dare but it is locked together. Can anyone tell me whether heat will loosen where it is frozen together?

Thats probably a better idea then hitting it with a hammer. I just cant believe how tight it is frozen together. How much does a knew one cost when I crack this one?

Use amallet or a maul & block of wood.
