Riser hose water flow pinched

Check out the pic.Hard to see but the riser hose has a bit of a restriction against the lift plate.
Not sure if that is what it is called.New to me 5.0 used motor that I got in a pinch when I found my stbd motor was in a bad way.The riser hose has a slight restriction against the plate.My neighbor pointed it out to me .He is an auto tech that builds race cars from scratch so he knows his stuff as far as cars are concerned.He suggested to cut the hose at the pinch and add a rigid piece(pipe) to the hose to eliminate the pinch. Seems to make sense to me.Or should I dremmel off part of the plate that is creating the restriction.Not overheating .RWC with alpha drives.Should I be concerned?? Charlie

As long as it is not chaffing dont worry about it. Several hoses on my 5.0 are similar no issues for six years

No it does not move so no chafe however my big concern is any restriction of water flow which seems like approx 20% may be restricted.Charlie

How difficult would it be to remove the lift plate? If you need it someday just put it back.

Its not restricting anything. again I have several such FACTORY hoses on my 5.0 no issues.

That bracket has some of the accessory brackets attaching through it and is the mount for the drive reservoir

Seems like you're over thinking it. Picture doesn't even show a pinch/kink?

There is defenetly a slight restriction/pinch.Had my neighbor not pointed it out I probably wouldnt have noticed.With his being a very capable tech I have to go with him on this.BTW i pulled the hose and will take a pic to show the dent in it.Charlie
