I just removed the rub rail in preperation of painting the boat and I was wondering if I should:
1-reuse the same holes when I put the rail back on or
2-should I plug the holes with fiber mesh and drill new holes in the rail and boat just a 1/2 inch away from the old ones.
I have not got out all of the rivits out or at least what is left of them. I have ground them flat to the boat so I can punch them thru eaiser. Which brings me to anouther question.
Would I be better to leave them in and plug the ones that are out and like i said above just drill new holes a 1/2 inch away from the original hole.
