i have a 2006 lincoln town car. it can tow 3500lbs i'm looking at a 1998 robalo 193 [ 19ft ] with a suzuki 140 4 stroke motor and a 1 axel trailer. what will the gross weigh be. rich

You are at the max..... I will bet you you are at 3200 with the trailer.....

It's not the towing that's the issue. It's the "stopping"!

My Saab 9-5 4 cyl is rated for 3500 lbs (right from my manual) if I was towing a boat and the trailer had it's own brakes. My book says only rated for 1000 lbs, if no brakes.

I wish I had brakes on my trailer (even though I'm only at 1000 lbs) because when in a sudden stop situation, I have to stand on that pedal

So if your trailer does not have it's own brakes make sure you keep big distances for other cars.
