Old unit that failed was originally hooked to yamaha oem gauge. I guess the old owner replaced the yamaha gauge with Faria as a way to troubleshoot. Anyway I found a source for Rochester sending units and asked for a new replacement. They sent a 9341-7000 series. Installed unit reads backwards. Full position empty and empty full. Another person on a boat forum said 9341-R70 is correct replacement. Would different gauge fix or should I buy the R unit. Anyone had a similar problem.
Thanks

No, but I think I found the answer. Sending unit wire comes off the top of of new unit resistor and off bottom of the other. More coil wire, higher the ohms. I did not notice this when comparing the sending units at first.
