I have a 1987 Bayliner Capri 1750. I took it out yesterday on the water but when i gave it gas the boat wouldn't go that fast. so i started messing with the carb and found out my electric choke is not working. The carb on the boat is a Rochester 2GE part #17086107. Where could i find an Electric choke? Thanks

Re: Rochester Electric Choke

Did you check to see if the choke plate moves when the key is on? Did you check to see if there is any voltage to the choke assembly? did you check to see if there is any binding on any of the linkages from the choke to the plate, you can loosen the 3 screws that hold the black cap and move it front to back to verify that it works ( make sure you, mark where you started ) the heating element is easy aquired as there were a lot of Rochesters made over the years, you'll need the code and numbers from the I'd tags on the carb. I'd check a marine supply parts house first
