Hi Guys, hope you can help woth this. I have rebuilt my two rochester carbs one ran fine the other wouldnt idle. Checked the settings initial idle mixture etc all fine so swapped the carbs on the engines and the fault moved, proving the carb is at fault. Dismantled checked float valve etc blew out with air line replaced. Guess what? just the same. As I had this problem prior to rebuilding the carb I am now wondering if i have a vacumn leak? If so whats the best way to check? I've read on posts about spraying carb cleaner around accelerator shaft and other areas, but is a vacumn gauge the best method for checking and if so where do I connect it?
Thanks in advance Bob

Hi Bob,...... Welcome to the forums here at iboats.........

It sounds like You've got about All the diagnosis Done.......

I have no love for the Rottenchester Carbs,+ Your's IS Junk,... You've already Proven that.....
I'd just go ahead,+ Replace it Now......

Most boat motors don't have a Vacuum Port available,... So, IF you want to use a Vacuum Gauge you've got to get Creative.......

Good Luck with it.......
