DEFINITELY. I saw a guy use one at a rest stop and thought it was the best thing since zippers. Almost makes you wish you had a flat tire. Yeah...I bought one.

Excellent. I just bought one online. I hate messing with jacks. Hope this is easier and more convenient.

So I looked at the picture, and it appears this is only going to work with a tandem axle trailer? i've also seen something similiar that works on the axle itself.

You're right that this will only work with tandem axle trailers. I think the one that works on the axle is only for a single axle trailer.

At the expense of sounding stupid, what happens if your tow vehicle gets a flat? :D

With all of my trailers, I always carry the correct lug wrench and that's it. My tow vehicle is always equipped with it's own jack. I figure if it will lift my vehicle, it will lift the trailer as well. There's no need to spend the extra $ and carry an extra tool that you already have onboard.

clarkbre . your thinking not correct for all vehicles, a trailer you jack up the axle, some auto jacks do not lend themselves to that task.

the above item is good as long as you are on a firm surface, dirt road, on the shoulder of the road, you would be out of luck.

Re: Rocker Trailer Jack

I've got a scissor jack in my tow vehicle, but, for $45 bucks (from a vendor other than Cabela's), this drive on jack seems like a lot easier way to get a tire on and off. Moreover, with a flat on the road and 3 kids and a wife in the truck, the faster and easier it is to get the flat off and spare on, the better. Doesn't look like it will take up much room, and I will probably store it in a locker on my boat. (Of course, it could also be that I just feel the need to buy a new toy, and I'm doing my best to justify the purchase).

Billdc. I'm with you on that. Don't think I could get comfortable using it (although it does get good reviews on the sites that sell it).

Chalk this one up to the: "It seemed like a good idea at the time category." Althought easy to use, I have 14" tires, and the EZ Jack did not jack up the trailer high enough to put the spare on. I had to use a bottle jack to get the tire back on (which is the jack I will use from now on).

Re: Rocker Trailer Jack

I have seen a lot of bent axles come through my shop because of this type of jack. Axles tubes have never been designed to be a lifting point. Spring pads or trailer frame only.

Which jack: the bottle jack or the EZ Jack? Thanks.

Re: Rocker Trailer Jack

The single axle one came with my boat and I'd never use it, it sits in the back yard by the gate. It feels like it weighs about a pound and every time I walk past it I imagine the aluminum collapsing and sending the boat trailer down towards me as I change the tire. A single use bottle jack costs about as much as a soda at the local china-direct (walmart or harbor freight). Or at least more than my insurance copay.
