I'm hoping you guys can help me out here. I've searched the forums and the web and haven't seen anything I like. I'd like to add rocket launchers on my boat 4-6 poles but keep the back and side deck clear from obstruction. There is about 6'x6' deck and rail I keep clear of non-essential gear. I have horizontal storage for six poles on the sides but it is strictly storage since they get tangled easily if there is anything more than a swivel on the line. I like to have extra poles rigged and ready to go for the different types of fishing - such as changing from trolling to mooching or just different set-ups, buddies' poles, etc. I have a fully closed bimini top that snaps to the windshield I sometimes use in bad weather. I don't put it up and down very often, usually just leave it the way I launch unless weather really changes. When the top is up I still have access to the bow through the center window and 2pc center zipper on the bimini. There are two gun whale rod holders on the port side but they are in the center of the rail so I don't really use them except to hold nets. I have four rod holders in the back but they are for active fishing only.
Does anyone have any pics of what they did? Mounting a new tower is not in the budget right now - maybe next year. I have antennas on both sides forward of the helm (port FM, STB VHF). The bow is deep and heavy so the ride is still pretty soft up front even in 2-3ft swells. Anything beyond that I'm likely stowing the gear anyway.
Thanks!
Here are some pics for perspective. Function is primary importance, but who doesn't like the "cool factor" too?
