I am in the process of re-furbishing my mid-70's aluminum v-hull. Forgive my ignorace but have owned the boat less than a year (yeah I'm a newbie) but I'm curious to what these brackets are and what they're used for. A buddy told me they were rod holder brackets. I googled and only could find links to more modern holders.

There are four brackets on each side of the boat. Here is a view of two of the brackets.

Re: Rod holder brackets??

Well,........ The Top Picture is a Oar Lock,+ a Mooring Cover support bracket.....

The Mooring Cover Support Brackets would have had a Wooden Stick, or possibly Fiberglass sticks that went from 1 side to the other......
These would hold the center of the Cover Up,+ allow Drainage,+ Stop the water from pooling.....

No Rod Holders,.. Or their Parts in your photos......... ;)
