rod storage in boat

I have a 2002 tracker tundra 18 ft with a dual console. Between the console, there is a compartment with a lid the lifts up, for the storage of my fishing rods. There are 5 black plastic tubes that let me slip my fishing rods in towards the bow. These tubes came in the boat, and Tracker has like a face plate made of aluminum, with holes that are 2" in diameter. These 5 plastic tubes slide into this face plate, and I am guessing, there is a similar plate with 5 poles towards the bow, where the tubes also slide into. Here is the problem. With most of my fishing poles being spinning rods, the "eyes or guide" closest to the reel, is to large to slide into these tubes. The tubes really should have been 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" in diamater. I think this might be a large job, and maybe I should just forget about it. I cannot find tubes, like pvc, that are 2 1/4". If I go with 2 1/2", this means reconfiguring this face plate, because only 4 tubes will now fit. I am not sure I can get under the floor to reconfigure the face plate towards the bow. Any ideas would be appreciated. I think if I can find 2 1/4" tubes, I can drill out the face plate in front, and keep the 5 holes, and perhaps put some kind of pipe reducer to the 2", so it still slides into the face plate towards the bow. Sorry about this long post.

Treeguy,
I'm not sure but, maybe you could see if they make plastic conduit in the diameter you need. I'm not an electrician by any stretch, but there may be more of a selection of sizes than regular schedule 40 pipe. Good luck...
