I already have a thread titled frustrated that goes into more detail about this problem and if you care to read more it will be available. Rodbolt you are the most accurate troubleshooter i have seen to date and really help alot of boaters like me. My Yamaha pro v 150 1987, has been running like it has a governer on it. It will not run at wot. It is idling fine and gets on plane fine but it runs at around 4000 rpm and then will jump up to start to climb up in speed then quickly back down again to 4000. I had the carbs rebuilt 3 years ago and have been running it every weekend so I know the gas is not gummy. I also have not been running Quicksilver Yamaha outboard oil and have been running whatever is cheapest over the past 12-18 months.Maybe that is the problem?
