Rodbolt,
Is the Prime Start System designed to draw just fumes out of the middle carb when in the normal position? Not liquid fuel?
My C40TLRX will pump liquid when in open position, but in normal position I get nothing but fumes when I pull a vacuum on the line from the Prime Start cold and then closes off after heated up.

Here is another thread I posted about it and what others had to say, but no one can say for certain if it is designed to just pull fumes.

when cold the electrothermal valve is retracted and allows the diaphram pump on the middle carb to pulse fuel into the manifold, as the thermal valve extends it shuts off the fuel to the enrichment circuit.
the vacum fitting for the prime start pulse is located behind the oil tank.

Rodbolt, Thanks for the reply.

I do not understand why my motor will pump fuel out of the line to the manifold when in the open position, but not the normal position.
I would think this means the diaphragm pump is fine if it pumps in the open position and I cannot find anything wrong with it or the valves when cleaning and inspecting the system.

The thermal valve is opening and closing as it should as I can move air through cold but not when warmed up, but I do not get liquid fuel out of the line.

I was told in another thread that it will not pump fuel out in normal, but the motor will suck fuel through the line while turning over and running by way of the motor vacuum instead of being pumped.

I do not get liquid fuel out of the line when I pull vacuum on the line cold, but I do just get fumes/air and when I blow air through it vents out of the middle carb vent.
I have ask for others to see what their system do but no one has come back to say or respond to the request.

So, if my system is not doing what it should by not transferring liquid, what and where should I be looking for?

inspect the diaphram and check valves and make sure the pulse line is attached to the crankcase.

Thanks again Rodbolt,

I will disassemble and recheck again,
The vacuum pulse line is attached correctly, and I just thought that since it pumps fuel in the open position that meant the diaphragm pump and valves were good.
