I get one lean sneeze on cold start up; sometimes it will stall out. it doesn't do it after that.
is that ok/normal?
600 hrs.

also notice when i first start it, it maintains 600-700 rpms. when it sneezes and stalls, i will restart and it now goes through the normal cold idle process... 1100 rpms down to 700 when warmed.
any thoughts?

i haven't put on the winky blinky yet.
Thanks, Abe.

may want to check the timing at start up, I think the timing is advanced until temp tells it is warmed up to get RPM up, but not sure on your motor

not normal
test the CTS
at start up fuel is fixed rich, timing is fixed at 7*BTDC.
once running the timing and fuel are controled by the CTS until about 113*F.
look for a code 33 at start up changing to code 1 aftr warm up.
if you get a code 9 ill tell you what it is for a small fee.
calling yamaha wont help cause they will tell you,as do the sevice manuals, that code 9 is not used.

Abe,
Keep us posted. I have the same motors and one is doing the exact same thing. Just sneezes once.
