I just created a post about some oiling issues I'm having with a 175proV. In that post, I mention melting a sensor. Well, the sensor I melted was a donor sensor off of another motor (same part # though).

In order to replace the "donor" sensor, I found another older one that looks like it would work if I spliced the wires. Just don't know what colors to tie together.

Two engine oil tank sensors out of different year motors.
(A) four wires
Blue/green stripe
Blue/white stripe
Blue/red stripe
Black

(B) four wires
Red
Black
White
Brown

Both sensors look alike and fit fine, but, wires different colors. Do you know which wires would be the same? Just looking for quick fix here...until the correct sensor gets here.

Thanks!!
Time for some splicing now.

With that engine mounted tank sensor unplugged, the alarm stayed "on".
With the broken/melted sensor plugged in...the alarm stayed off, but, it would just keep filling that tank with oil when engine was running.

I ran it last night with the on-board tank unplugged. No alarm and I just filled the engine mounted tank before I left....and didn't go far.
