I Hope this isnt to dumb of question(s).

Can A Fuel gauge and a trim gauge draw a battery down in a week or so, and when I charge my trolling motor batteries (24 volt) Do I have to unhook them from each other? Thanks for any advice you fellas can give.

Re: Rokkie Question about batteries

[colour=blue]1. Normally - no. But if the little lights inside the gauges are on - yes.

2. If you have a 12v charger - yes. Disconnect the cables and charge each battery seperately. If you have a 24v charger - no. Connect the charger to the positive of one battery and the ground of the other.

if the batteries are several years old, you can have them load tested at the auto parts store for free.

Re: Rokkie Question about batteries

If you are using a 12V charger and connect it directly to the batteries they do not need to be disconnected BUT -- you need to connect to each battery separately. DO NOT connect across the 24 lines or to the motor plug.
