What type plug do I need for a 1986 120hp Evinrude with VRO?

You can use the Champion QL78YC or the (rather expensive) QL16V. I run the slightly cooler QL77JC4 in my loopers.

Appreciate the info, but what is the advantage of the QL77JC4 over the QL78YC?

Just a personal thing. Theyre a tad cooler burning. I like to have that tiny extra "cushion". Just seen too many pistons hurt from too high combustion temps, I guess. The 78's are recommended and will do very well as long as everything is running as it should be.
