I did a stupid thing today. Wanted to try out my 16' runabout with a 60HP Mercury 4 stroke for the first time this year. Just did all the spring maintenance on it even bought new steering cable.
Well everything ran great and I pulled my son and a friend around on a tube. Than came the stupid part, my cell phone rang and i answered it and didnt pay attention and somehow the rope got pulled in and wound around the prop. Before i could turn the engine off it got torked off.
Removed all the rope and started her up again but as soon as i put her in gear it starts to bog down and shut off again. It will also not rev up.
What did i damage? Where should i start looking?

Read about a person who ran over someone while they were on the phone. I think you got lucky.

I have you pulled the prop off and examined the bearing carrier for damage? Also, may be remnants of rope behind the prop
