Rope too short

When pulling the tube from the wakeboard tower the rope seems a little short. Do they make extensions for that purpose?

Our tube rope is 60ft long but a ski rope that came with the boat is almost 100ft long. Im sure you could tie on an extension, theres a video on youtube about how to tie a know to extend rope.

In answer to your question, they make ski ropes with removeable sections but unless you have one of those, your option is to tie in a longer section or get a different rope. The knot you should use depends on whether you ever want to take the section out again. A double fisherman's knot or a water knot are two options, but once you apply the force of a tube or skier, its pretty much there to stay.

With that said, after reading multiple posts on the forum about towing a tube with a wakeboard tower, I'd recommend NOT towing the tube with your tower and use the ski eye instead. People advise that the tower is not designed for such forces. Just thought I'd pass it on.

The best advice is to not pull a tube from the wakeboard tower. They make some tube ropes with 5000# strength for a reason. When almost any tube goes under it will snap a ski rope. Say you only put 1000# of load on the tube when it gets pulled under water on some wake. Say, also that you've got a short little 4' tower from the deck. That still gives you 4000 ft. lb. of torque on your boat's deck. They don't really build a boat to handle that. (I'm sure you'll hear from people that do it. But the math is simple and you can figure the load on your cleats or a grab handle that might be a normal load)

You can put a pivot float in the line to the tube. That can give you lots of motion on the tube and your still pulling from the transom. It's also easier to adjust the length.
