Re: Rot Fungus - Dangerous to Breathe?
It truly depends on the particular type of mould, if present. Their side effects vary. Different people also react differently to different growths. The problem with mould is that it affects you immediately, unlike other irritants such as asbestos, which affects you over a time period. A friend of mine lost half his lung to due exposure to mould, albeit a deadly mould growth under his deck , from all things raccoon urine. A fun day in the sun can turn deadly quickly. Not trying to be a grey cloud, and like stated most fungus will not immediately affect you, but if you are allergic, or depending on the type, it could. Bleach can kill some of it, although alot of times it just masks it, and the fumes can be just as dangerous. A concrete cleaner called TSP is safer and kills the growth just as well.
