How easy (or not) is it to remove the Rotor and Wheel, since I understand that they are secured to the distributor shaft with Loctite? The procedure is in Mercruiser 18, Page 4B5
PS: Parts supplier (marine shop) said not to bother with the Loctite
Thanks,

You could try heating it with a hair dryer, or heat gun, then pull it off with a pliers, no locktite on installation.

Mine pulled off by hand. I didn't reinstall with locktite either. Just give it a go.

I used two screwdrivers to pry on two sides of it and popped it right off. I did not loc tite the new one on.

I used pliars to pull it off. Once again back on with no locktite. I believe the purpose was to keep water out of the shaft but I could be wrong.
