Rotten Floor boards?

I have a 1994 Lund Tyee and the carpet is starting to peel up in a couple places and in one of the back corners (near swim step) the wood boards underneith are flexing when you step on it. That is also where the carpet is peeling the most. Does this mean my floor boards are rotten? How do I check / know? Also, how do I check over the rest of the boat (Transom, etc)?

Thanks!

Not sure on your particular boat. I helped my neighbor do a 16 foot lund aluminum boat. We popped all the rivits, replaced all the wood with 1/2 inch green treated plywood and outdoor carpet and stainless steel screws for about 100 bucks. Took us about a total of 5 hours to do the whole thing. Not sure if this helps in your situation. At least it will bring your post back to the top

Re: Rotten Floor boards?

Thanks,

My main problem is that I'm pretty new at boating and don't know if its rotten or if I just have a loose piece or what. I'd rather not go through all the work of tearing out my carpet, etc. if everything is actually fine to begin with. I grew up on a farm so I'm a firm believer in the philosophy of "Don't fix it if it isn't broke." What I need to know is if its broke or not.
