I have a 89 Century boat with rotten stringers. My engine coupler failed and when the marina pulled the engine they found the reason. The entire area surrounding the engine is GONE. In searching for a solution I found Seacast transom repair system. Has anyone used this product? I am some what handy but with time as such a valuable commodity this looks like a good option. Your input and suggestions are welcome.

Yes, it seems to be a really good product - but it is $$$$$$$$.
Use the search function and see what comes up. I'm certain there will be enough reading on the subject to answer your question.

I would replace the wood with pressure treated ply. Yes some people have tried Seacast but I am not convinced that is the right way to do the repair. Unless you are only fixing a small area such as a motor mount. But if the stringers and transom are rotten, then I suggest replacing it with wood. Use pressure treated so it won't rot, at least not in the near future.

Have a great day,

Rob.

yup, what ^ they said. take some measurements, figure out how much you'd need and see what it costs. sent me to the lumber yard.

examine your boat, it was probably missing drainage for those areas. correct that, re-assemble it properly and you should be good to go.

The water, hopefully, came in from un-sealed engine lags.
Replace the wood with fir and (your choice of resin).
Then use 4200 to seal the bolts, this time.
