Re: RPM Question

Thanks, Boat has a 19 pitch at about 5800 RPM. Looking to maybe go to a 20 or 21 if it does not kill it too much.

Re: RPM Question

You need to go to the prop forum, Chaney, or you will get yourself in trouble and hurt your engine.

Ask DHadley and Walleyehed about your proposal.

Re: RPM Question

The 90 (and 3 cyl 75 for sure) has a 2.33 gearbox and hence will swing more prop than other engines in the range which are normally 2:1 gearboxed. I am currently running a 24P Ballistic XP on a 17' boat at around 5600 rpm's and 49 GPS mph.

My experience with Merc engines in that hp range, being 3 or 6 cyls, is that they can handle another 500 rpm's over recommended (and then some) with ease. Mine seemed to love it.
