I have a 150 evunrude with a 14 1/2x19 on a 20ft WA,weight of boat with motor about 3200lbs I'm topping out at 4200 rpm. What's the best way to get up to about 5500 rpm. Any help would be great.
Thanks

Re: RPM

Howdy, RJF.

First, make sure that your engine is putting out all of its power. With the WOT rpm that low, I kinda doubt it.

If that is okay, you need to investigate rigging. Is the Anti-ventilation plate even with or above the bottom? Is the boat well balanced, lifting the bow on accelleration and coming up smoothly onto plane?

If all of the above is good, try a shorter pitch prop, though 19" seems in the right ballpark for that boat/engine package.

I will move this to Evinrude Troubles, where it will get more attention.

Good luck. :)
